What are botunilum toxins?

Botulinum toxin treatments are directed at specific muscles or areas of muscles to locally reduce or block contraction to achieve the desired effects of smoothing, wrinkle reduction and elevation.  The goal is a pleasing aesthetic effect without unwanted impairment in other adjacent areas.

When using botulinum toxins, the result of how much or how little movement remains after treatment is determined by the desires of the client and the skills of the injector.

BOTULINUM TOXINS AT FACE IT

Why Choose us For Your Treatments?

At Face It Medical Aesthetics, our injectors are skilled in recommending doses based on individual desires and exam findings. We are conservative in our approaches, as it is always easy to add more in the future. To minimize your discomfort and maximize results, we never hurry through an injection session, and we don’t stick you repeatedly with the same needle that is dulling with each injection. We offer Botox and Xeomin at our facility, and our clients have been happy with both products.

BENEFITS OF BOTOX / XEOMIN

Say Goodbye to Wrinkles!

Reduce or eliminate wrinkling of the facial skin  (forehead wrinkles, frown lines, Crow’s Feet) by reducing or inhibiting muscle contraction

Prevent Signs of Aging

Use preventatively to delay the onset of facial wrinkles associated with aging and repetitive facial expression (forehead wrinkles, frown lines, Crow’s Feet)

Reduction of Creases

Though treatments are meant to target wrinkles associated with movement (dynamic wrinkles), there is frequently a softening or significant reduction of creases and wrinkles seen when the facial muscles are at rest (static wrinkles)

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

How long does Botox / Xeomin work?

Muscle function gradually returns 2-5 months after treatment. On average, we say 3 months.

What are my limits after a treatment?

In general we recommend you avoid lying down for 4 hours after treatment, avoid pushing directly on or manipulating the injection sites, and avoid exercise or vigorous activity that can cause facial flushing for several hours after treatment.

What is the difference between Xeomin and Botox?

The active part of both products is botulinum toxin A. Botox is the older of the two products and has been used years longer in the US, though Xeomin has been used in Europe for over 10 years. Botox contains some extra preservative types of proteins that xeomin does not. In comparing case studies of thousands of individuals, we fail to find any significant difference between the two in terms of onset, duration and effect.

Who should not use botulinum toxins?

The following people are advised to avoid toxins: those pregnant or nursing, those with an infection in the treatment area, persons with neuromuscular disorder or motor weakness due to Polio, Bell’s Palsy, ALS, myasthenia, and other muscular diseases, those who are allergic to egg or albumin.
